Using Form Designer

Form Layout Area

The Form Layout Area is where you place fields templates to create a master form. Think of it as a canvas on which you will design your form.

Add background images or color by clicking the Set Graphics control button.

Resize the Form Layout Area using the double-head arrow in the bottom right corner. Adjust as needed to set the size of your form.

Drag field templates from the right side column of field templates and place them in the layout area. Arranged them as needed.

Fields outside the layout area are invisible but are still part of the master form. There are rare cases for having invisible fields. Once a field template is placed in the layout area the resulting field can be dragged outside the layout area.

Code Field

By default all new entity master forms have a Code field located near the top of the form layout area. The code field uniquely identifies filed entity data forms. The default field label for the code field is the name of the master form. You can change the label and other attributes of the code field. Click on the field to open the Code Field designer

Transaction master forms do not have a Code field. By default all new transaction master forms have a transaction date field located near the top of the form layout area. It is intended to represent the date on which a transaction occurred. This is the date to show as the date of an invoice or transaction. It is the date against which you would age a transaction.

Neither the transaction date field nor the entity code field can be moved to the Field Recycle or deleted.

Editing Form Fields

Each field on a master form can be configured as to its size, appearance and behaviour. Each field type has its own Field Designer. Click on a field to open its field designer.

Editing Procedures and Definitions

Definitions and procedures are found on the back side of the master form. Click the button Turn Form Over. This will show the back of the master form. Further details are provided in the sections on procedures.
