Introduction To Rates
Rate are another unique quantity. In general, rates represent a ratio between two numbers. In Formever Rates are always a ratio between currency and a unit – currency/unit. For example, $/lb, $/hour, $/cubic yard.
In calculations, Formever knows when a quantity rate is multiplied by a quantity unit the result is currency. For example, 200Kg of rice at $1/Kg = $200.
A powerful aspect of Formever rate quantities is that these quantities could have been 200Kg of rice at $1.50/lb. Formever would automatically convert the weights and arrived at the currency amount of $660. No programmers needed.
A special type of rate is currency/currency, also known as an exchange rate. E.g. USD/Yen. For more information on exchange rates see Currency and Conversion
