Dynamic Contextual Reference [DCR]

A Dynamic Contextual Reference (DCR) is similar to a contextual reference in that it is a reference that does not need the target form to be exactly identified by a form code. The DCR is used in the case when a form is potentially from a set of parent forms.

The only current use of this in Formever is a G/L Posting that can be in a wide range of transaction forms.

The DCR is specified by field name and will be resolved at run time by looking at the parent form and finding the field by name. This requires all the parent transactions to have that field with the identical label and the same field type. In future releases the ability to have a ‘heterogeneous’ form stack will be added (i.e. a formstack that is composed of more than one form type). In this case a DCR will be required to access fields in this kind of formstack.
