Each fiscal year defined using the Fiscal Year Widget is a sequence of accounting periods.
Each accounting period is a calendar month. (NB: Formever has the internal capability to handle accounting periods of an arbritrary number of days, but this has not been exposed in the interface).
There are two fundamental modes in Formever:
- Admin mode
- Accounting period
Formever shows the current period in two locations:
- In the Formever window title bar.
- On the office background which is optionally tiled with the watermark showing either "ADMIN MODE", "ADMIN MODE – FORM DESIGN MODE", or displays the current accounting period e.g. "NOV15"
Admin mode is where the following tasks are done using the following desktop widgets:
- Fiscal Calendar Widget
- Adding a fiscal year to your fiscal calendar
- Locking or unlocking accounting periods from data entry
- Currency Widget
- Setting home currency
- Adding trading currencies
- Admin Operations Widget
- Activating your cloud account
- Downloading and installing form kits
- Saving and restore your system
- Cancelling your cloud account (cloud only)
- Purchasing USB keys for two-factor identification (cloud only)
- Getting the system in ‘form design mode’ (i.e. single Director) (cloud only)
- Changing your account contact info (cloud only)
- Changing your account security level (cloud only)
Fiscal accounting periods are for:
- Data entry
- Form design
- Report design
- Export design
